Karen is the Senior Vice President of Environmental Risk Innovations, LLC and Director of Operations and Sales. She has 28 years of experience in the environmental industry and is a Licensed Geologist in North Carolina. Karen is an experienced environmental risk manager who works with financial institutions to facilitate meeting their environmental risk management goals. This includes meeting with team leaders and key players at a bank to develop environmental risk management policies and procedures which meet the risk tolerance of the bank. Karen has experience with a range of property uses, from office buildings and multi‐family residential to heavy industrial, highly contaminated properties. Karen has a wide range of regulatory experience as well, including working with oil companies, various industries, developers, attorneys, lenders and individuals to facilitate compliance with environmental laws and regulations. Prior to joining ERI, Karen was a Senior Hydrogeologist and Project Manager for the North Carolina Department of Environmental and Natural Resources and worked on a variety of petroleum, chlorinated solvents, and metals contamination sites.

Karen is proficient in interpreting the Small Business Administration (SBA) environmental SOPs, ASTM Standard E 1527 / All Appropriate Inquiry (AAI) Final Rule, ASTM 1528, Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, Corrective Action Plans and environmental policies of many lending institutions.
